Interpretation of Results
Avi-Culture Quad Plate
E.coli:
1. Observe the Levine EMB Agar in Chamber 1. It will be black w/metallic green sheen.
2. On CLED w/Bevis in Chamber 11 will have bright pink Colonies w/Pink Halo.
3. Observe the XLD Agar in Chamber lV. Yellow Colonies with Red Areas.
4. Partial to no growth on the Pseudosel Agar, Chamber 111.
Klebsiella:
1. On Chamber 1, the Levine EMB Agar, will have Large Pink/Purple Mucoid Colonies.
2. Chamber 11, the CLED w/Bevis will be Pink, Mucoid.
3. Partial to Complete inhibition on Pseudosel Agar, Chamber 111
4. XLD Agar, Chamber lV will have Yellow, Yellow Colonies with Red Areas.
Entrobacter:
1. Brown/Purple Colonies will be on Chamber 1, EMB Agar.
2. Pink Colonies on the CLED Agar, Chamber 11.
3. Partial to complete inhibition on the Pseudosel Agar, chamber 111.
4. Yellow
Serratia:
1. EMB Agar will show Brown/Purple Colonies.
2. Pink Colonies on the Chamber 11, CLED agar.
3. Partial to complete inhibition on the Pseudosel Agar, Chamber 111.
4. Yellow, Yellow Colonies with Red Areas on the XLD Agar, Chamber lV.
Proteus:
1. Look for Clear, Purplish Transparent Colonies on Chamber 1, EMB Agar.
2. CLED Agar, Chamber 11 will be Blue, Translucent
3. The Pseudosel Agar will be partial to complete inhibition on Chamber 111.
4. Red. Sometimes Yellow reaction.
Pseudomonas Aeruginosa:
1. The Levine EMB Agar will have Clear to Lilac Colonies on chamber 1 when viewed through reflective light.
2. Look at the CLED w/Bevis on Chamber 11 for Grey, Blue Rough Edges.
3. Look for growth on the Pseudosel Agar on Chamber 111 w/blue-Green Pigment.
