a.Floors should be swept clean whenever needed.
b.Food, seeds, etc. should be picked up immediately.
c.Deposit all waste materials in a metal waste receptacle with a self-closing lid.
d.Clean and mop cement or vinyl floors daily.
e.It is important to control all types of dust.
f.Windows, screens and curtains should be clean.
g.Regularly clean fans, ventilation systems, air conditioners and humidifiers.
h.All work areas must be well lighted.
i.Aviaries need both hot and cold running water.
j.Remember to clean bathroom door handles.
k.Toilet tissue, paper towels and pump-type antiseptic liquid soap must be provided.
l.Wash hands after using restroom and between handling birds.
m.Separate water bowls must be provided for each Cage
n.The aviary must be free from insects and rodents.
o.Aviaries must not be used for cooking or living quarters.
p.Food must never be placed in refrigerators used to store bird supplies.
q.Eating, drinking and smoking is not recommended in the aviary.
r.Waste receptacles must be emptied regularly throughout the day.
s.Aviculturists must wear clean, freshly washed clothing.
t.Always use freshly laundered towels on each bird when holding birds.
u.All bird supplies such as emergency kits must be properly marked, tightly closed and properly stored.
v.The outside of all containers must be clean.
w.Soiled or dirty linen are to be removed from the aviary and nursery and properly stored for cleaning.
x.Do not place any tools, cagebuilding equipment, syringes, pencils, clips for cages etc. in your mouth or pockets and then use for your birds feeding or environment.
y.All tools and implements should be properly cleaned before each use and stored in a covered container.
z.Aviculturist should avoid touching their face, mouth or eye area during feeding babies and aviary birds.
